Members of the Korean Construction Workers Union occupied a portion of the Mapo Bridge in Seoul’s Yeouido District on Nov. 28 following the adoption of the “2017 General Resolution for a Mass Strike.” The resolution was adopted after the Environment and Labor Committee of the National Assembly failed to adopt amendments to the Act on the Employment of Construction Workers that would have improved labor conditions. The workers were attempting to march to the National Assembly but were stopped by police causing a major traffic jam. (Yonhap News)
