[Photo] Civic groups demonstrate at Blue House to oppose construction of second Jeju airport

The Seongsan Village Committee Opposing Construction of the 2nd Jeju Airport staged a demonstration at the fountain plaza in front of the Blue House urging President Moon Jae-in to order a review of plans for the project. Citizens shaved their heads to show their opposition to the construction of the proposed airport. Some of the signs carried by demonstrators include, “45,000,000 passengers? First examine the environment’s capacity to accommodate!” and “President Moon, if the 2nd Jeju Airport is built, Jeju will become a garbage island.” (Yonhap News)
