[Photo] 29 killed in multi-use building fire in North Chungcheon Province

29 people were killed in a fire at a nine-story multi-use building in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province that took place just before 4pm on Dec. 21. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. Twenty bodies were found in a women’s sauna on the second floor of the building, while the rest were discovered in higher floors that contained a fitness center and restaurants. In the photo, fire officials from the North Chungcheong give a press conference on Dec. 22 to address complaints from victims’ family members that they were slow to react to the fire.
