[Photo] Former president Park receives new representation in NIS special activity funds case

Former president Park Geun-hye has selected her long-time attorney Yoo Young-ha to represent her against charges stemming from misappropriation of 3.65 billion won (US$3.5 million) from the NIS special activity fund budget during her time as president. Yoo has served as an attorney for Park since the beginning of her legal troubles, including her impeachment trial and the Samsung bribery case. The latest indictment alleges that Park received illegal payments on a weekly basis from the NIS, which she used for her personal slush fund. Three of her top aides have been arrested as a result of the investigation.
