The walls of the Mt. Ohdu Unification Observatory in Paju, Gyeonggi Province are filled with the tragic stories of families who were separated by the division of Korea. Similar to a passage in the poem, “Fragrance,” by Jung Ji-yong, will those families’ dreams be forgotten once again? Although North Korean participation in the Pyeongchang Olympics is welcome, we hope that the dreams of these families to see their loved ones once more will not be forgotten as inter-Korean dialogue progresses into the spring.
