[Photo] Animal rights group begins campaign to ban consumption of dog meat

The animal rights group, “Animal Liberation Wave” kicked off a campaign on Feb. 7 to outlaw the consumption of dog meat. The group displayed eight one-meter high statues of dogs painted with flowers and other decorations at the base of the steps to the Sejong Center for Performing Arts in the Jongno district of Seoul. The dog statues were created by artist Park Jin-woo. The group plans to display the statues at the National Assembly, the Pyeongchang Olympics medal plaza, Haeundae Beach, and other important sites in South Korean over the next two weeks in order to draw attention to their campaign.
