Cleaning workers from the Dongguk University facilities management division are engaged in an ongoing strike to protest the university’s refusal to make new hires to replace retiring workers. In an effort to cut costs, Dongguk and other universities have been hiring students who work part-time rather than replace the retirees with regular staff.
