The city of Seoul has placed solar panels at seven different locations over a span of 26.8 km along the Gangbyeon Expressway, including over the Achasan Bridge. The expressway runs in an east-west direction through the north side of the capital and connects it with satellite cities such as Goynang and Paju. The solar panels, which can produce over 270,000 kW of power each year, are expected to remove 1267 tons of carbon emissions from the city. The power generated by the panels is enough to power 8800 households per month. (provided by Seoul City)
