Ahn Tae-geun, the central figure in the sexual harassment allegations raised by prosecutor Seo Ji-hyun, was brought in for questioning at the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office on Feb. 26. During a television interview that rocked the nation, Seo accused Ahn of groping her at a staff dinner, and then transferred her to a regional office after she voiced complaints. Seo’s accusations have sparked an outpouring of similar stories, which have evolved into South Korea’s #MeToo movement, and have ensnared powerful figures of the country’s judiciary, cultural, religious, and entertainment sectors.
