[Photo] Sungkyunkwan University foreign freshmen embrace traditional Korean clothing

Foreign students at Sungkyunkwan University in the Jongno district of Seoul attended a welcoming event for new students on Mar. 11 in advance of the beginning of the new academic year. The students wore black traditional Korean caps called “yu-keon” along with the white robes of a Confucian scholar. Sungkyunkwan University dates back to 1398, and became the foremost educational institute during the Joseon Dynasty. It was converted to a university in 1895.
