[Photo] Jeju is becoming the “Electric Car Island”

Jeju Island has become the first province in Korea to record the use of 10,000 electric vehicles, surpassing the mark on Mar. 13. The milestone came just five years after private electric vehicles were made available for purchase by the general public. In total, Jeju Island houses 36% of South Korea’s 27, 425 electric vehicles. A festival to commemorate the occasion will be held on at the Jeju Citizens Welfare Town on Mar. 17. (by Heo Ho-joon, Jeju correspondent)
