Hong Gi-tak, former president of the FineTek chapter of the Korean Metalworkers Union, and Park Ju-ho, the chapter’s secretary general, entered the 150th day of their ongoing sit-in on top of a 75m smokestack in the Yangcheon district of Seoul. Hong and Park ascended the smokestack on Nov. 12 after demanding that the company keep the three promises it made regarding employment guarantees when Cha Gwang-ho, vice president of the labor union chapter, descended from his own sit-in atop a smokestack that went on for over 400 days in 2015. Hong and Park plan to stay on the smokestack until they win employment guarantees from FineTek. (by Park Jong-shik, staff photographer)
