The Ministry of Strategy and Finance announced a list of 1206 theoretical inventions that citizens would like to see businesses pursue. The list, which came from suggestions that citizens provided via e-mail, mail, or directly to the website itself, was published on the “Citizens Participatory Budget Enterprise” website (www.mybudget.go.kr) on Apr. 17. Among the suggestions were a drone that was able to clean up air pollution, and an app that would allow consumers to compare prescription drug costs across countries. In terms of suggestions by industry, the leading category was health and welfare (24.3%), followed by general and local administration (13.7%), public order and safety (11.3%), environment (10.8%) and employment (4.8%).
