Four days ahead of World Book Day on Apr. 23, the Songpa Gulmaru Library in the Songpa district of Seoul held an event called, “Fill the library with books I select” in which citizens were invited to donate their favorite books to stock the library’s shelves. “People will gain an interest in books and feel a sense of excitement when they see their book on the library bookcase,” said librarian Cho Su-yeon. “Also, because we buy books from local bookstores, we can contribute to economic revitalization of the area.”
