Since the arrest of a 25-year-old female model surnamed Ahn for illegal photography of a male model at the Hongik University, women have been protesting the bias of police investigations into hidden-camera crimes, citing instances of female victims not receiving the proper treatment and justice by authorities. Dressed in black, over 500 women gathered in Seoul’s Cheonggyecheon Hanbit Square on May 26 to express their rage at gender biases in legal investigations. The rally followed a similar demonstration that attracted more than 12,000 women in front of Seoul’s Hyehwa Station on May 19.
