Humane Society International is an animal protection agency. It’s Korea branch works to save dogs originally bred for slaughter by sending them to homes abroad. Humane Society International has saved over 1,300 dogs in Korea by sending them to new homes in other countries. The dogs they save are often bred in “dog farms” for meat to be used in the Korean dish “bosintang,” commonly translated as “dog soup.”
