[Photo] South Korean government suspends Ulchi defense drills

The Ulchi defense drills, held in coordination with the Ulchi Freedom-Guardian exercises, are a series of government-level exercises designed to prepare against an emergency situation involving war or a terrorist threat. Usually held annually, the South Korean government has decided to suspend this year’s drills. The South Korea-US joint military exercises for next year are also expected to be postponed.
