[Photo] A million people expected to gather in Daegu to for fried chicken and beer festival

A celebration of one of Korea’s most beloved late-night snacks, fried chicken and beer, the Daegu Chimac (a neologism combining “chicken” and the Korean word for “beer”) Festival launched in 2013 and has been held annually since. This year’s festival will be held on July 18-22 in the city’s Duryu Park. Based on statistics from past events, the city government has predicted that this year’s event will attract a million people, despite the sweltering heat wave.
