On Aug. 26, 125 women dressed in black gathered in front of the Bosingak Belfry in Seoul to demand their right to abortion. To highlight their cause, many held up a bottle of Mifepristone, a medication used to terminate pregnancies. Other held up a bottle of vitamins of similar appearance. To finalize their statement, the women each held up a pill, placed it on their tongues, and swallowed. Many held up placards reading, “Terminating pregnancy is a basic right! My body is not a crime!”
