[Photo] Samsung’s in-house fire squad ill prepared for their job

Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Byung-wook has pointed out how ill-prepared Samsung Electronic’s internal fire firefighting squad was to respond to the carbon dioxide leak at one of its plants in Giheung, Gyeonggi Province. On Sept. 13, Kim released video footage of the Samsung’s in-house firefighting squad enter the scene of the leak. They are seen wearing no masks or protective gear. They are not even equipped with basic medical gear such as stretchers for transporting victims. The video shows them struggling to enter the building because their key card isn’t working properly.
