Chuseok, literally "Autumn eve," once known as hangawi, is a major harvest festival and a three-day holiday in South Korea and North Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. This year’s Chuseok is Sept. 24. The Hankyoreh, therefore, will also take some time off from Sept. 24 to 26--if only to make the holiday official.
