[Photo] A miracle of 100 won bus fare for elementary school students in Suncheon

In March, the city of Suncheon, South Jeolla Province, initiated a bus fare system that allowed elementary school students to ride for only 100 won (roughly 10 US cents). The system was enacted to increase use of public transportation while taking the burden off working parents to get their kids to school. The response has been so good that the cities of Gwangyang and Yeosu plan to adopt it as well. By paying only 100 won, students receive a discount of 84.6 percent off the standard fare.
