South Korean Minister of Gender Equality and Family Jin Sun-mee met with victims of Japan’s “comfort women” system of sexual slavery during the imperial occupation of Korea in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, on Oct. 11, at the House of Sharing, a support center for comfort women survivors. This was Jin’s first visit to the House of Sharing since her appointment. After talking with the survivors and hearing their personal stories. With her eyes full of tears, Jin promised to dismantle the Reconciliation and Healing Foundation.
