A Seoul appellate court ordered Koh Young-ju, a former prosecutor who served as chairman of the Foundation for Broadcast Culture, to pay 10 million won (US$8,879) in reparations to South Korean President Moon Jae-in for defamation on Oct. 16. Koh accused Moon of being “a communist” who was turning South Korea into a “red country” during a public forum in January 2018. Koh was originally ordered to pay 30 million won (US$26,639) by a lower court, but the appellate court reduced this amount.
