[Photo] Gunsan-Seocheon Migratory Bird Festival

After 14 years, the annually held Gunsan International Migratory Bird Festival is in its last run. The City of Gunsan, in North Jeolla Province, announced on Oct. 23 that this year’s festival will be the event’s last to prevent the spread of avian flu. The festival was launched in 2004 under the objective of boosting ecological tourism. In 2015, the festival changed its named to the Gunsan-Seocheon Migratory Bird Festival and was co-hosted along with the city of Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province, which sits across the Geumgang River from Gunsan.
