[Photo] Two firefighters emerge with melted helmets after rescuing 3-year-old

A fire broke out in a residential building in Hongcheon County, Gangwon Province, on Oct. 28. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the building was already engulfed in flames, spewing smoke, making it difficult to enter. A mother cried that her child was still in the building. Two firefighters who had arrived at the scene threw themselves into the building; they emerged with a 3-year-old who had been lying unconscious. The child has since regained consciousness after being transported to a hospital. The helmets of the two firefighters were burned black and melted. (provided by Gangwon Fire Services)
