Artist Lee Yeong-gyeong is holding a solo exhibition, Letting Go, at Gallery Woomul in Seoul’s Hyoja neighborhood until Nov. 18. The exhibition highlights Lee’s work that express the hope and atmosphere of reconciliation during the Apr. 27 inter-Korean summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Panmunjom. Lee even visited the offices of the Hankyoreh to collect copies of the newspaper issued on the historic day. “They told me they were all out, but I managed to get a copy from an employee who had one lying around,” Lee said. One of the exhibition’s most iconic works features the front page of the Apr. 27 edition of the Hankyoreh, which features a photograph of Moon and Kim crossing the inter-Korean border while holding hands.
