[Photo] Next-generation small South Korean satellite reaches designated orbit

The first of South Korea’s next generation of small space-exploration satellites successfully reached its designated orbit on Dec. 4, the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced. The satellite launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in on Dec. 3, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), which developed the satellite, has announced that the satellite has established communications with ground bases 80 minutes after its launch.
