Students at Woolim Middle School in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, have contributed a donation of 2 million won (US$1,780) to former victims of sexual slavery under the Japanese military. The students accumulated the money for their donation by making handicrafts and snacks and selling them in a local market. Their original plan was to build a memorial, but after addition deliberation they decided that making a direct contribution to the victims was more beneficial. (provided by Woolim Middle School)
