The South Korean supermarket chain E-Mart may introduce self-driving cars in its grocery delivery service as early as the second half of this year. The company announced on Dec. 6 that it’s collaborating with the self-driving vehicle startup ThorDrive to create a delivery system of self-driving cars. ThorDrive is the first South Korean company to successfully test a self-driving car on civilian roads. The service will begin with a trial period involving a few select branches. The US grocery chain Kroger has already begun using self-driving cars for delivery services in partnership with the self-driving delivery startup Nuro.
