Following allegations by national Short track speed skater and Olympic medalist Shim Suk-hee that she was repeatedly sexually assault by her former coach, Cho Jae-beom, two more athletes have come forward to say they’ve been sexually assaulted by their coaches. The two athletes are expected to reveal the identities of their perpetrators and take their cases to court. Attorney Park Ji-hoon, legal advisor for the Young Ice Skaters in Solidarity, announced on Jan. 9 that investigations into abuse of athletes have revealed that two more athletes in addition to Shim were abused by their coaches. Park added that additional details will be revealed in a press conference on Jan. 14, when the perpetrators identities will be revealed and the two athletes will begin the process of pressing charges.
