The funeral procession for former comfort woman and peace activist Kim Bok-dong was held on Feb. 1 in Seoul. The procession started off in Seoul Plaza, in front of City Hall, and proceeded all the way to the Japanese Embassy. Kim passed away on Jan. 28 without ever having received a proper apology and compensation from the Japanese government. The procession for Kim was massive, with many people holding signs and placards chastising Japan for refusing to offer a sincere apology and adequate compensation for the remaining comfort women victims.
