International Labour Organization (ILO) has ruled that South Korean legislation prohibiting the political activity of teachers and civil servants violates its stipulations that prohibit political discrimination. The ILO’s Conference Committee on the Application of Standards has reconfirmed its opposition to South Korean law prohibiting political activity among teachers and civil servants on four occasions thus far. The photo shows teachers calling for the resignation of then president Park Geun-hye in 2017.
