The centennial celebration of the Mar. 1 Independence Movement kicked off in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square. It was the first government-organized celebration of the movement that was held outdoors. Thousands of people attended the event, turning the square and its surroundings into a giant sea of South Korean flags. (Blue House, Chai Yoon-tae, staff photographer)
