Originally constructed in 1484, Myeongjeong Hall of Changgyeong Palace was rebuilt in 1616, making it the oldest remaining royal structure built during the Joseon Dynasty. The hall is a designated national treasure and will be opened to the public for the first time this year. The Cultural Heritage Administration has announced programs for public viewing will be available in the spring and fall of 2019. The hall is where Joseon kings discussed government affairs with royal officials and where foreign envoys were received.
