[Photo] Seoul to expand its network of senior “daycare” centers

The city of Seoul is expanded its services for senior citizens, allowing people suffering from ailments such as Alzheimer’s and stroke to get care nearby their homes without having to visit a hospital. On Mar. 17, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced its plan to expand the number of senior “daycare” centers and to improve the quality of their services. These daycare centers offer care for elderly people by bathing them and providing meals and nursing services. Between 2014 and 2018, the city established 31 senior daycare centers throughout the city. The city currently funds 192 daycare centers, around 49% of daycare that provide care for the elderly.
