Starting Apr. 1, companies employing over 300 people that do not abide by new legislation that limits the work week to 52 hours will be subject to government penalties. The graced period granted to certain companies that were deemed “unprepared” to abide by new regulations by the Ministry of Employment and Labor ended on Mar. 31. The ministry will audit around 3,000 companies from Apr. 1 to June 15 to ensure that they are implementing the 52-hour work week.
