[Photo] Move to jointly register DMZ as world heritage site with N. Korea

Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, Gangwon Province Governor Choi Moon-soon, and Cultural Heritage Administrator Chung Jae-suk signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) concerning the joint registration of the DMZ as a world heritage site on July 11 in Seoul. The agreement is part of an effort to convert the DMZ from a symbol of war and conflict into one of peace and reconciliation. Jointly registering the DMZ as a heritage site with North Korea would solidify the significance of such a conversion.
