As South Koreans continue to boycott Japanese products and refuse to travel to Japan in response to Tokyo’s decision to remove South Korea from its white list of countries receiving favorable treatment in exports, travel to Dokdo, a set of islets that has become a symbol of Korean sovereignty, is on the rise. South Koreans are posting an increasingly number of photos of them traveling to Dokdo on social media. Dokdo is culturally significant as Japan continues to claim sovereignty over the islets.
