National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang, Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeong, and the leaders of South Korea’s five major political parties attended the commemorative service of the 10th anniversary of former President Kim Dae-jung’s death. The service was held at Seoul National Cemetery, and served as an occasion for the ruling and opposition parties to set aside their differences and focus on Kim’s lifelong message of peace. Unable to attend the ceremony, President Moon Jae-in posted his commitment to “a peaceful and prosperous peninsula, together with the South Korean people” to honor Kim’s memory on his Facebook account.
