The Seoul Metropolitan Government is planning on reducing the number of lanes on major city roads, such as Sejong Road, Eulji Road, and Chungmu Road to make way for more pedestrian pathways and bike lanes. On Oct. 9, the city announced its plans to convert 7.4km of car lanes into pedestrian paths and bicycle lanes by 2020. The effort is part of a larger objective of becoming a more environmentally friendly city that places greater priority on “green transportation.” (provided by the Seoul Metropolitan Government)
