[Photo] Business owners again ask permission to check on KIC factory equipment

A group of business owners held a demonstration outside of the Seoul Government Complex on Feb. 26 to ask the South Korean government for permission to check on factory equipment at the Kaesong Industrial Complex in North Korea. “We have asked the government four times previously for permission to inspect the equipment, but we were not approved. But we are cautiously optimistic that we our request will be granted this time,” the group said. Following a North Korean missile launch, the Park Geun-hye administration ordered the complex close in Feb. 2016, although South Korean businesses were forced to leave behind the equipment used in day-to-day factory operations.
