On Apr. 28, the day after the inter-Korean summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, the Rodong Shinmun (Workers’ Newspaper), the official paper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, devoted four out of six pages to news related to the summit. In extraordinary coverage, the North Korean paper printed 61 photographs depicting the entire procession of summit events, from the moment the two leaders met to Kim Jong-un’s departure from Panmunjeom that evening. There was also an article detailing the contents of the Panmunjeom Declaration, an agreement signed by both parties to work towards the “common goal” of denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
