[Photo] Government calls for end of launches of anti-North Korea leaflets

It is common for anti-North Korea activist groups, such as the Fighters for Free North Korea (FFNK), to launch balloons filled with leaflets containing rhetoric that opposes Kim Jong-un and the North Korean regime. To honor the Panmunjeom Declaration of the Apr. 27 Inter-Korean Summit, the South Korean government asked citizens on May 1 to cease such launchings of anti-North Korean material. The South Korean government announced that the end of such launches would serve as a gesture toward easing military tensions on the Korean Peninsula. (Park Jong-shik, staff photographer)
