A civic group for advocating peace on the Korean Peninsula gathered at the Korea Press Center on May 29. The group identified itself as the “South Korean representatives” of the June 15th North–South Joint Declaration of 2000, which was a joint resolution to work toward peaceful reunification between then president Kim Dae-jung and then North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. In the photo, members of the group are seen calling for leaders to work toward a successful North Korea-US summit, which would hopefully result in an official end to the Korean War and permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula, holding signs depicting a united Korea.
