During a commemorative event to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Pastor Moon Ik-hwan, an activist and poet who was a prominent voice in the Korean unification movement from the 1970s until his passing in 1994, Korail sold tickets for its “Peace Rail” on June 3. The tickets, with destinations marked “Pyeongyang,” were created in the spirit of inter-Korean unification and peace. The train did not actually go all the way to Pyongyang, but stopped at Doransan Satation, in Paju, near the North Korean border. The above photo shows an event attendee proudly showing his ticket to Pyongyang.
