A delegation of South Korean basketball players led by Unification Minister Cho Myung-gyon left for Pyongyang on the morning of July 3 from Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to partake in a series of inter-Korean friendly basketball matches. Cho said the inter-Korean basketball games were organized in the spirit of implementing the Panmunejom Declaration, adding that he hopes the games create an opportunity for accelerating the peace process on the Korean Peninsula. Scheduled for July 4-5, the inter-Korean basketball matches will be the first in 15 years.
