The 2018 Asian Games kicked off in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Aug. 18. During the opening ceremony, the unified Korean team entered under the Korean Peninsula flag. Members of the One Korea Joint Cheering Squad in the crowd shouted, “We are one!” and “Let’s go, unification, let’s go!” The joint cheering squad was formed by the the Hankyoreh Unification and Culture Foundation and the South Korean Committee for Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration on Aug. 18, and comprises 40 cheerleaders and 100 members who will be staying in Indonesia from Aug. 17 to 20.
