On Oct. 6, a 160-member South Korean delegation to Pyongyang for the National Unification Conference Commemorating the 11th Anniversary of the Oct. 4 Summit Declaration revisited a pine tree planted by former President Roh Moo-hyun in the name of peace during his 2007 inter-Korean summit with then North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. Among the delegation was Roh’s son Gun-ho, who paid his respects by watering the tree and shoveling some earth over its roots. The water and earth were brought from Roh’s hometown, Bonghwa Village, Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province.
