Andrew Kim, head of the CIA’s Korea Mission Center, is resigning from his post on Dec. 20. Kim is expected to take on a new position at a research institute under Stanford University as a visiting scholar. Kim had actually retired from the CIA before, but was called back by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to head the Korea Mission Center in May 2017. Kim has played an important role in closed-door negotiations between the US and North Korea. The photo shows Kim (center) and Pompeo during talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on May 9.
